The School Education Department Punjab is going to conduct the School Based Assessment (SBA) 2026 from 10 March 2026 in all Government schools and PEF partner private schools across Punjab.

These assessment papers are organized by the Punjab Examination Commission (PEC) for students from Grade 1 to Grade 8. SBA exams are compulsory, and students are promoted to the next class based on their assessment results.

SBA Papers 2026 PDF Download (All Classes)

Punjab Examination Commission will release an updated SBA Item Bank 2026 containing exam papers for classes 1 to 8 in both:

• Urdu Medium

• English Medium

These papers will also include answer keys to help students check their preparation before the final exams.

Students are advised to practice these papers before exams because they cover the complete syllabus from the Punjab Textbook Board under the Single National Curriculum (SNC).

SBA Papers Grading Formula 2026 (PEC)

PEC uses the following grading formula for SBA assessments:

SBA 2026 Exam Pattern and Paper Composition

The SBA exam format depends on the grade level.

Grades 1 and 2

• Exams will be oral assessments.

Grades 3 to 8

Written papers will contain five sections:

1. Fill in the blanks

2. True / False

3. Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)

4. Column Matching

5. Short Questions

Each section contains 5 questions, but students attempt 4 questions per section.

Total Questions

• 20 questions in each subject paper

Marks Distribution

• Total marks per subject: 100 marks

• Each question: 5 marks

Nazra Quran papers contain 50 marks.

What is School Based Assessment (SBA) 2026?

School Based Assessment (SBA) is a PEC-conducted evaluation system used in Punjab schools for Grades 1 to 8. It measures students’ learning according to the Single National Curriculum (SNC).
